Rickrack Roses!

I saw a tutorial over at Kathy's blog this afternoon of rick rack roses. I had seen these before a long time ago and knew I had a file saved so I went digging for it.  Nostalgic NeedleArt had also shown a tutorial 3 years ago on their site!

This one was made by Kathy...
And these were made by in one of her Sampler Classes at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX.  I love how the petals have been manipulated to lay out and away from the rose along the outer edge.
Well... since I had that file saved for so long and then Kathy posting a tutorial this morning, I decided it was high time that I make one!  Shoot... I had the info long enough!!

Well... I made one... and most likely one is all I will make!!...These little boogers are hard on the hands!! At least my hands!  My fingers are fat... reckon that might be why???

So, what do you think?  I haven't tried to manipulate the edges...this flower is going to stay all prim and proper... I may put him on a CQ project that I have to do for a friend done all in purples... :)

Your rose looks great! I don't have an issue working with the medium and large rick-rack...but the small size is almost impossible for me to manipulate. And I like the edges rolled down for flowers that are in full bloom...and up for buds.
