What's In A Name?

Today I was emailing back and forth a couple of times with Madame Samm and told her the reasoning behind why I named my quilting website Cover Your Little Piggies.

This is what I told her:

I named my website because of my granddaddy. When we spent vacations on the farm in the summertime, he would always come in to our room in the mornings and grab our toes under the covers and go "wake up little piggies - wee wee wee - breakfast is cooking"!
We knew breakfast was cooking because you could smell the bacon all the way down the hall. And we knew granddaddy would come as sure as the sun would rise... So we played like we were asleep until we heard him coming down the hall. We were still as mice and waited for his hand to life the covers off our feet and then we would start giggling.
So, when I started my blog, I began the search for a name and nothing made more sense than to call it Pig Tales and Quilts!
So today I was wondering.....
Is there a reason behind the name of your blog??

I started my blog when I was pregnant with my first child (and then deleted it, protected it, and started over because of nasty comments I was getting) I was 21, graduating college, and pregnant...not married...and my life was on an unexpected path, and I found myself going down other unexpected paths, not unplesant just not the path I thought I would be on. I haven't talked about it on my blog but I have lately been wondering if I was on God's path (parts yes, sometimes I think I wandered off) and if I am on it now, or if I am trying to trail blaze my own way....it's all about the journey. Sorry about the long winded answer!

Cut & Paste from first post on my blog:

"One day, while Instant Messaging with Dan, I jokingly told him that I thought I had ADD or ADHD because I would start one task, get distracted, and start another. He asked if I was hyperactive. I said no; but, my mind is! He then replied with “you’re just unfocused”. I immediately had an epiphany – “Unfocused!” would be the name of my blog."

Looking at the past history (2 years), I'd say that I'm unfocused -- I blog about this and that and have way too many interests. Ha!

When I decided to start my blog I looked up from my laptop and across the room I saw the quilt I use in my blog header - a quilt of polka dot chickens with a fried egg border - so The Polka Dot Chicken it was! I have a collection of chickens with polka dots on them. I thought this would limit the size of my collection but you'd be surprised how many polka dot chickens are out there!

I tried to capture what I was going to be blogging about - family and sewing. Thus came "Needled Mom."

This is so cool to read why you all named your blog what you did! Hoping lots more people play along!

My blog is called SeeingStars-quilting. Since my favorite quilt blocks are stars, it seems appropriate. Also, when playing with the kids and turning lots of cartwheels, I find that I'm seeing stars, just like in the old cartoons! It's fun to see what others have to say about their blog names too.

Not very imaginative I'm afraid. When I started my Blog I lived in a small English red brick cottage by a railway, hance the blog address.
I changed it when we moved to SOmerset, as we now live in a white cottage on the side of a hill looking out towards Glastonbury Tor.
