Write a limerick in your comment about Halloween.
A limerick is a funny little poem containing five lines. It has a very distinctive rhythm and rhyme pattern.
The last words of
the first, second, and fifth lines all rhyme with each other. And the last
words of the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other.
The first, second, and fifth lines all have one rhythm pattern while the third and fourth
lines have a different rhythm pattern.
One limerick entry per person!
I will choose my favorite limerick from all of the entries on Halloween!
What will the winner win??
I have a Christmas tablerunner that I want to gift to someone this year. I am going to make a new one for this holiday season so this one needs to be gifted to a new owner.
How do you like my witch tablerunner???
Candy is ready... Now I need little ones to scare! hehe!!

There was an old goat from Spring Mills,
For whom a full moon gave the chills,
covered up in a quilt,
(she felt such little guilt),
She hid instead of worked to pay bills.
The best I could do tonight - Beth (aka OneOldGoat)
Come on, give it a try. :)
Too cute Beth! Thanks for entering! :)
There once was a witch on a broom,
Who would scare everyone in the room.
Then we gave her a Pfaff,
And she started to laugh,
Now she'll have her first quilt finished soon!
YAY!!!
Hmm....never did this before, but let me try.
The ghost rode in on the witch's broom.
The forlorn witch warned of doom.
The pumpkin carved
and the black cat starved.
All the while Halloween was gloom.
Poor attempt, but fun anyway.
There was a young sailor from Second Street
Who trick or treated with a submarine fleet
The candy came flowing
their little faces were glowing
As they calculated how much they could eat.
That is certainly NOT poor! Great job!
Sounds like young'uns.. :) Great job!
There once was a department store dummy
Who fell in love with the Halloween display mummy
On All Hallows' Eve
They pilfered the keys
And ran off to a place warm and sunny.
A poet, I am not!
OH Yes you are! Fantastic!
Your halloween table runner is so beautiful !!
Okay now for the limerick, English isn't my native language but I will give it a try :-)
At Salem, witches gather in the green
but this year there are hardly any to be seen
It's the crisis I fear
Flying too expensive so I hear
Maybe this time we call it Hollow-ween.
The Jack-o-Lantern
There once was a pumpkin named Jack
Who looked the same from front to back
Said he with some glee
I know what I'll be
So he carved his face with great knack.
Carin.. You did good!
Bravo!
Boo said the ghost
To the party host
Your party was fun
Now I must run
To jump out from behind the post
OH YES I LOVE your witch tablerunner
Ghosts and goblins and more
Gathered in front of the door
Looking quite scary
With heavy bags to carry
Filled with candy and treats galore
Happy Halloween!
Too cute! :)
Thank you! :)
Fantastic!
It happened one Halloween Eve;
A witch set out to deceive.
But she tripped on her cat,
And bent up her hat . . .
And instead had an ache to relieve!
Whew! (It wasn't your wicked witch, flying off into the sunset, I hope! LOL!) :)
