"What Was I Thinking?"

Have you ever had one of those days when you labored in your sewing room only to ask yourself "What was I thinking" when you finished what you were working on??  Welll, today I did just that!!  This one is one for the record books!!! egaddss!

I have to make a stocking for a swap on the HGTV Quilting and Needlework Forum.  I had this idea in my head of making a modern looking stocking and frill it up so it would be fun, fun, fun.  Well.. it is ugly, ugly, ugly!!! Or so my hubby thinks, and honestly, me too!   He so lovingly said " He was very nice about it.. he said "Now honey you know how it is with us crafters, sometimes things just don't turn out the way you have it pictured in your mind". lol  Bless his heart!!

Well let me poll the audience... Is this one for the "What was I thinking" awards?

I went back upstairs and made a new stocking!!  What do you think of this one.  Traditional and not so frilly.  The little gift boxes are part of a UFO from a swap I hosted several years ago.  I am trying to incorporate some of these things in to my work and I thought they were perfect for this!  I left the top of each gift box open so I can stick small surprises inside!!

Got any ideas of what I can do with the blue/purple stocking??

I am linking up over at Fabric Tuesday!

Honestly the 2nd one is MUCH much nicer than the 1st, and YES, I've had many of those 'what where you thinking moments'...lol

I've had too many of those moments. I am not a purple person, but I think the second stocking is just darling. I'll bet someone will love the purple one.

Well, the shape on the first one is really odd, but I think it's nicer than the one I saw today in a tutorial at Owen's Olivia blog. So, why not make a little girl's zip pouch from it?? Hugs, Cathy
