Photography Through A Child's Eye

My granddaughter has been visiting on the farm this summer.  I gave her my older camera to enjoy taking photos with and these are some of her first shots.  They are uncut from their original exposure so you can get a feel for how good of a photographer this 9 year old youngster just might become if she is pushed just a little. :)

This first photo is by far my favorite.. She came running in the house yelling "that lizard couldn't hide from me!"  She told me that when she tried to take his photo, he ran in the storm drain.  She then commenced to explain just how she got down on her knees and nabbed this photo.  I could not help but laugh at her and be so proud of her too. :)

My hubby could not hide either... lol ... He needs to smile... just too serious.. :)

She started this applique project last year and finally finished it this year.  She did a fantastic job!  This year she was threading her own needles and knotting off on the back without asking for help! YAY! Allie!

These are some shots that she got out in the yard around the flower gardens...A couple are a tad blurry but I wanted to show all of them.. Enjoy..

This is Allie's self portrait this morning... bedtime hair and all. lol

I did this as a child too. The best thing is that it opens your eyes to the beauty that is everywhere. Nature, people, textures, animals..... She'll continue to see photo ops every direction she looks and this will continue to develop her artistic eye. Great job, Allie!

Way to go Allie! Not only did you take some great pictures you did a beautiful job on your applique... I can't even do that! I'm sure you've heard this a million times - you look just like your grandmother. I know she enjoyed your visit and in time you will treasure all the minutes you got to spend with her and your grandfather.

Fantastic photos Allie! Super cool how you got those shots, and the lizard too. Photography seems to come naturally for you. Not for me.
Keep learning, and enjoy it.

Allie is a very cute girl ! I bet you're enjoying her Thearica. Isn't it neat when you're Grandkids take an interest in sewing like their Grandma. One of mine does and I was thrilled !

Great pictures. I love the butterflies, some of that blur is because you can't get them to sit still while you take their picture =)

What phab photos, Allie, you've got the eye it looks like. And the smile that beams forth like the almighty sun. How wonderful it is to spend time on Grandma's farm each summer.

Your quilt finished up gorgeously-dolphins are among my favorite animals after thirty years in the Tropics and having chances to swim with them in the wild. I hope you have that same experience one day-it's a life-changer.
