I&#39;m trying to be mindful of those for whom Christmas won&#39;t be as good as it has been in the past but also trying to hold on to the meaning. I have a friend who worries that we focus too much on the decorating but for me every glance at something Christmasy in my home is a reminder of Christ&#39;s sacrifice and the hope He brings us, of family no longer here or who are far away, of times when my children were small and laughter filled the air. I&#39;m slower putting each decoration in place, holding it and savoring the memories. When I&#39;m not feeling the spirit of Christmas I try to remind myself that feeling it is a choice.
